1993年金星在北京的某医院要准备进行变性手术，国内首例变性人，导演张元带着他的摄影团队，用35毫米黑白胶片记录他变性的全过程，并对金星进行了深入的采访。相隔7年后，在上海张元继续拍摄了已经成为女人的金星的生活。影片由四个故事构成，爱情、梦境、性、生活。该片在韩国全州国际电影节作为开幕式电影。
